Melba Karaka is a continuation of the Melba Café brand in the new Karaka development. The context of the new site is proposed to be a cluster of ‘flower distribution centres’. Ctrlspace worked on the original architectural development of the precinct which had the narrative hook of ‘Build One, Build Two, Let a thousand flowers bloom’.
The interior design of the café embodies the charm and character of the surrounding urban, industrial architecture and integrates a utilitarian distribution warehouse aesthetic with a vibrant contemporary café design. It presents as a benchmark for a strong coffee culture in the developing Karaka area and includes visual cues that create a dynamic coffee-centric destination.
