The interior intent was to create an atmosphere for dining, drinking, and socialising. We referenced historic English dining rooms giving context to the ornamental wall panelling, chesterfield upholstery applied to the banquette seating and large scale moulding on the bar counter. All design details were a contemporary interpretation, rather than replica. For example, the floating ceiling feature references a classic Versailles flooring pattern, typically laid in timber. We re-imagined the application with lightweight sheets of timber veneer stained a deep blue, then hung from the ceiling in the classic pattern.
