The Brit is Britomart’s fresh, vibrant and highly social gastro-bar, approachable through the aesthetic & branding and casual through music, staff, and the food & beverage on offer. Architecturally it’s an open space, with areas where social groups can have a sense of ownership. It’s light and simple, with recognisable and unique design features. The subtle interior attributes reference the relationship between the building and the wharf. A total reconfiguration of the existing layout, in particular the central peninsular bar, was a pivotal decision that changed the way the entire venue functioned. The new layout created two areas either side of the central bar, one with a strong connection to the open kitchen where dining is common. The opposite side encourages more active behaviour including drinking, pool and live music.
